PRP Injections
PRP Injections use components from your own blood to promote tissue repair and reduce inflammation. This is a natural way to decrease pain and promote healing, jump-starting your body’s natural capabilities for recovery. Once our Nurse Practitioner determines that PRP is a good option, she will draw your blood and spin it down in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. She will then use diagnostic ultrasound to guide the injection to the exact treatment area. We usually recommend PRP in a three-dose series.
Trigger Point Injections
Trigger Point Injections target muscle knots that cause pain and tension, offering fast, localized relief. First, our Nurse Practitioner will evaluate you for trigger points (pain-causing muscle fibers), and will determine which type of injection is most appropriate for you based on your health history and current medications. The relief is usually instant, and it is a great option for patients in severe pain or those with chronic tight and painful muscles. Most patients will receive a series of injections based on the provider’s recommendations. Read some research regarding trigger point injections in patients with chronic pain here.
PRP Injections
Ultrasound-Guided Joint Injections deliver anti-inflammatory or regenerative solutions directly into the joint to relieve pain and improve mobility. Evidence shows that ultrasound-guided injections are the superior method for ensuring proper needle placement. Our injections are always done with the clean “no-touch” technique, a common practice for all orthopedic and sports medicine providers.
Most injections are performed in-office in under an hour with minimal discomfort and downtime. Depending on your condition, a series of injections may be recommended over several weeks for optimal results. Your provider will give you discharge instructions that include potential restrictions and rehabilitation care. Many patients begin noticing relief within days of treatment.
